The story behind the artwork

Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a fascination with rocks. I would collect them and put them in jars of water and stare at them. They were so colorful and varied. Today, I like to climb, hike, and rappel through huge rock formations called slot canyons. These are often remote places that are difficult to get to. I’ve had to challenge myself physically and overcome my natural fears of heights, falling, and tight spaces to experience these amazing places.

My drawing, slot, begins to explore those dark and curious places.
