The story behind the artwork

This was the first painting I made after I started to explore the slot canyons of Zion. When I first experienced these cayons it was immediately obvious to me they resembled feminine shapes. The intense flow of water carves twists and curves into the sanstone walls. When deep inside the slot canyon I feel like I am experiencing a special place that's soft and comforting and undeniably womb-like. It is quiet and reflective and in many ways my sanctuary of peace.
